Volume---- The value of these social networks brings about the voluminous usage by people across the world. For instance, Facebook has over one billion users across the world.
Frequency---- The value of social networks and volume of people and organizations who make use of them creates an avenue for frequent and consistent usage by their users. For instance, an individual browses on Facebook at least four times a day.
Advantages of Social Businesses/ Networks.
1. They ensure the interaction and communication between different people from different regions across the world.
2. They ensure the sharing of ideas and opinions between people over certain issues like national and foreign issues.
3. They are also used as an advertising media. For instance, most business organizations advertise their products and services on Facebook, Instagram,YouTube and so on.
4. They are also by students in universities, polytechnics and other tertiary institutions as an educational tool and facility. For instance, videos of lectures are uploaded on YouTube for students to download.
5. They are used for disseminating information across the public/ the world.
6. They serve as means of livelihood to their owners.
Disadvantages of Social Businesses/ Networks.
1. They are used as a means of conducting criminal acts such as cybercrime, internet hacking.
2. They reduce the concentration on academic studies among students because nowadays, students spend much of their time on social networks than their academic affairs.
3. People had turn the social networks to a platform for unethical acts such as posting of their naked photos and videos.
4. Anti religious videos are now rampant on social networks thereby leading to religious crisis in the world.
Conclusion ---- The social networks are created for positive reasons. But it is unfortunate today, that people are abusing the social networks. Let us join hands together to make the world of technology great by desisting from abusing the social networks. We can do it and we should do it.
